Eau de Cologne
A little more than four years ago, I met those two men in Cologne.

I was told that if I touched their noses, I would be lucky and I would have the chance to go back to Cologne... Well, it did work with me. I spent the weekend of the 17th of January again in this city. Funny enough, when I was there in 2004 I didn't like it too much. We had the bad luck of being there in quite a grey day (even though it was June), so the place lost most of its charm. On the other hand, when I visited it last month I truly loved it. It's beautiful, lively and a real student city. Besides, this is the first thing you see when you get out of the main station.
Yes, this is the legendary cathedral.
And yeah, once again we had to go all the way up ****509 STEPS**** to see the bells and the nice views from the top. However, this time I already knew it was going to be hard and that seeing the bells was only a nice excuse to have a rest, so it wasn't that terrible (my legs were shaking when I was finally on the ground again). Actually, going down was worse than going up, since you feel kind of dizzy.
For the first time, we spent the night there, which gave us also a chance to enjoy the nightlife and try a Kölsch, the typical beer from the area. I'm not too fond of beer, so I can't really judge it. I personally didn't like it too much, even if it's a bit softer than normal beer. But before that, we visited the place I was most looking forward to... the Chocolate Museum!!!
I had had the chance to visit it four years ago, but for some reason, I had decided not to... and I had regretted it. I have to say that it was not quite what I expected. There was a lot of information about fair trade, the consumption of chocolate in different European countries and (what I found most important) the reasons why cocoa is very healthy, especially for women. Apart from that, there were paintings made of chocolate (which I found kind of disgusting, have to admit), chocolate figures (as you can see in the pic above)... and the best chocolate I've ever tried (which is the reason why I look so psych in the photo). I tried it... four times!
After a delicious Saturday, there was a little surprise for us on Sunday... instead of staying in Cologne, we took the train to Bonn, former capital of West Germany. As everything was closed and we didn't have that much time (hey, it's 5 hours train from Bonn to Würzburg!!!), we only had a walk around the city centre and visited the Haus der Geschichte, one of the most important history museums in Germany. It was also my second time there, but I enjoyed it much more than my first visit. Mainly because now I do understand German. There were three different exhibitions - one on German language, another one on the Third Reich and a third one on symbols of German identity (such as flags). Unfortunately, it was forbidden to take photos. So just to show you some nice memories, I'll leave you with some pics of the city centre in Bonn.
This is the university.
And the old town hall.
PS. I hope Molly Malone's tits also worked that well...
